Conflict in the Community~


“He has sent me to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to the captives and to set the oppressed free” Luke 22:51

“Do not repay evil with evil.”  Luke 4:18

“Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 10:34

“Jesus said… ‘all who live by the sword will die by the sword.” Luke 22:36,38

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9

Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Proverbs 3:27

Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow”– when you now have it with you. Proverbs 3:28

Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you. Proverbs 3:29

Do not accuse a man for no reason–when he has done you no harm. Proverbs 3:30

Proverbs 16:
27 A scoundrel plots evil, and on their lips it is like a scorching fire.

28 A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.

29 A violent person entices their neighbor and leads them down a path that is not good.

30 Whoever winks with their eye is plotting perversity; whoever purses their lips is bent on evil.

Proverbs 6:
16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 

17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 

18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 

19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
